Lately the buzz online in Richmond news is all about Hardywood Brewery, so RJJ and I decided to meet a group of friends there last night. There was a band scheduled to play, and RJJ loves beer, so we couldn’t pass it up. When we arrived, the place was packed! Fortunately, A&G and co. already had a high table for us to gather around. Of course, I did not like ANY of the beer (they only had a few options), and there was some kind of problem with the band and they started an hour and a half late. But it turned out to be a good thing, because it was a heavy metal band, and man, was it heavy. We stayed just long enough to finish the beer after the music started, and we got out of there pretty quickly. Not really our type of music.
We still wanted dinner, so after about 15 minutes of standing outside in the snow trying to figure out where to go, we decided on Burger Bach in Carytown. But the wait was almost an hour! So we walked over to Baker’s Crust to try our luck there. They were busy, but we didn’t have to wait. It was a pretty good dinner, and we closed the place down (well, 10:30 isn’t all that late, but apparently it is for Baker’s Crust). All in all, a good night with some good people.
