Fulbright Panel

As the liaison to the NSO, I volunteered to serve on Fulbright review panels. The NSO here at VCU has a very strong program in helping VCU’s students apply for national scholarships. There is a big program run by the NSO that helps students make their applications stronger and become better candidates. There are info sessions, old applications available, reviewers, and connections with the library and the writing center. For the Fulbright, the NSO organizes panels of faculty members to review student applications and provide suggestions for improvement. It’s really a great service for students! For me, its been really exciting to hear all about VCU students’ research interests and goals, and its been a great way to meet other VCU faculty members. Plus, it’s good PR for the library! I’ve already met with one applicant one-on-one to help him find some solid research to support his essay. Great experience!
