Thoughts on LibGuides

I see LibGuides as a valuable tool for both librarians and students. If used correctly, it can provide a wealth of resources for students in an incredibly organized and easy to use way. Many institutions choose to use LibGuide pages as tools for individual subjects to support their curriculum, helping students identify appropriate tools to guide them in their research. LibGuides makes it easy for librarians to organize their resources, and connecting resources on multiple pages and allowing many levels within a page itself. The ability to allow users to rate resources and track the number of times a link is clicked also easily allows librarians to track usage statistics, and evaluate a resource based on user preferences. While LibGuides has many advantages, there are a few things I would like improved in the future. I wish it was easier to edit the colors and layout, specifically, being able to move boxes between and within their columns, without having to click through the top toolbar.
